Drafts Where Every Fact Names Its Source

Drafts Where Every Fact Names Its Source

Makes each factual sentence carry a source marker and lists what the sources never covered, instead of filling gaps.

À quoi ça sert En anglais

The dangerous output is not the obviously wrong one — it is the draft where three sentences came from your documents and the fourth was invented in the same voice. This forces a marker onto every factual sentence, keeps source disagreements visible instead of averaged, and ends with a list of what the sources never said. Fill in the assignment and paste the labelled sources at the top; without both, the model invents the brief as well as the facts.

Le skill

ASSIGNMENT (what to write, for whom, what format, how long):

SOURCES — paste each document below and label it S1, S2, S3:
[paste sources here]

Draft from that material only. Anything not in the sources is unknown.

Before drafting, list what you are working from:
S1, S2, S3 — one line each, document name and its date.
If a source is older than the claim it is being used to support, say so
on that line.

Then draft.

- Every sentence containing a number, date, customer name, product
capability, or claim about what we do ends with its marker: [S2].
- A sentence with no marker must contain no facts. Framing and
transitions are fine; a "typical" industry figure is not.
- Two sources in one sentence means two markers. Never blend silently.
- If sources disagree, keep both: [CONFLICT: S1 says X, S3 says Y].
Do not average them, do not pick the flattering one.
- Quote figures exactly. Do not round, convert currency, or collapse a
  range into a single number.
- Do not repair a gap with general knowledge, a competitor's published
number, or a reasonable estimate. That single move is the reason this
  format exists.

Close with two lists:
UNSUPPORTED — the specific facts this draft needed and the sources do not
contain, written so someone can go and find them.
STALE — sources older than 18 months that the draft leaned on.
