Routing That Works in Every App
The full audio path from your real mic to Discord, OBS or the game, plus the two settings that silence a changed voice.
What it is for
Almost every "the voice changer doesn't work" problem is the audio path, not the effects: the wrong microphone selected downstream, noise suppression eating the processed voice, or a sample-rate mismatch. This walks the path once, in order, and adds the two habits that stop it breaking again. Read it before your first call, not after the first failed one.
The skill
Nobody can hear you, or they hear you twice, or your game comes down your mic. All three are routing, and all three are fixed in the same order. Set it up once, in this order: 1. In the voice changer, set your REAL microphone as its input. If the operating system and the app disagree about which mic that is, you are processing silence. 2. In Discord, OBS, the game — anywhere the changed voice should arrive — select the virtual microphone the app installed. Not your real mic. This is the step people skip, and then they blame the presets. 3. Wear headphones. On speakers the changed voice goes back into the mic and the effect stacks on itself until it howls. 4. Turn OFF noise suppression and echo cancellation in the destination app. They were tuned for a human voice; a pitched or robotic one reads as noise and gets gated out mid-sentence. 5. Put the real mic, the virtual device and the app on the same sample rate (48 kHz is the safe default). A mismatch is the metallic crackle you would otherwise spend an evening blaming on the effect. Two habits that save the session: - Restart the destination app if it was open before the voice changer started. Most apps read their device list once, at launch. - Keep an unmodified slot on a hotkey so you can drop back to your own voice in one keypress. You will want it faster than you expect. Test before it matters: record yourself and listen back, or use a test call. Asking teammates "can you hear me?" mid-match tells you almost nothing and costs everyone the round. If a preset you used yesterday is missing, that is the free tier rotating what it offers, not a broken install.
How to install it
1. Open the tool and start a new conversation, project or template. 2. Paste the text below wherever the tool keeps standing instructions — usually called system prompt, instructions, or persona. 3. Save it so it applies to every run rather than a single message.
