A Training Video You Can Keep Current

Build a training video so a changed fact means rewriting one scene, and price the re-render before you promise anyone a quick fix.

The reason to make training video this way is that next quarter you change one
sentence instead of rebooking a studio. That only holds if you build for it.

Know what a correction costs before you promise one. Changing a sentence means
producing the video again, and the new version is billed on the whole video's
length, not on the seconds you touched. The length of the video is therefore
the price of every future fix. Check what your plan charges before you quote
anyone a turnaround.

That single fact drives everything below.

Make one fact live in one place:
- One step per scene. When the step changes you rewrite one scene, not the
whole script, and you re-read one scene to check it.
- One topic per video, each a few minutes long. A twenty-five-minute
onboarding video is not merely hard to update - it costs twenty-five minutes
of render every time one line moves.
- Never state the same fact twice. A price given in scene three and again
in scene nine is a price you will update once and forget once.
- Keep dates, version numbers, prices and staff names out of the narration
  unless the video is about them. "In the current release" ages quietly;
"in version 4.2" becomes wrong on a known date.
- Do not say "as I mentioned earlier". It forbids ever cutting a scene.

Keep the source outside the tool:
- The script lives in a document with an owner and a version number, and the
video's description records which version it was rendered from.
- Mark in that document every scene that contains a screenshot or a screen
recording. Interface shots expire first, and they expire silently.

For a library rather than a single video:
- Same avatar, same voice, same opening and closing across the set. Learners
should recognize the series before they read the title.
- Whoever must approve the wording approves the SCRIPT, before rendering.
Approval on a finished render means paying to render it again.

When a fact does change, correct the document first and produce the new version
from it. A video edited directly while the document goes stale is the one
nobody can maintain six months later.

1. Open the tool and start a new conversation, project or template.
2. Paste the text below wherever the tool keeps standing instructions
   — usually called system prompt, instructions, or persona.
3. Save it so it applies to every run rather than a single message.
