Screen Brief That Produces One Screen
How to describe a UI to Stitch so it returns the screen you meant instead of a generic dashboard.
What it is for
Describe a UI loosely and you get a generic dashboard. This covers naming the screen's job, its states and its one primary action, so what comes back is the screen you meant.
The skill
Describe one screen at a time. A prompt that describes a whole app returns a generic dashboard every time. Give, in this order: 1. **Platform and size** — "Android phone, 412 x 915 dp" or "web, 1440 wide". 2. **What the user came to do**, in one sentence. Not what the screen contains — what the person is trying to finish. 3. **The regions, top to bottom**, each with its content and its priority. Say which single element is the primary action. 4. **Direction and language** — if the UI is right-to-left, say so in the first line, not the last. A layout generated left-to-right and mirrored afterwards puts the back arrow and the primary action on the wrong sides. 5. **The constraints that are not negotiable** — brand colour as a hex value, the font, the corner radius, whether there is a bottom bar. Then iterate by naming a region and changing only that region. Rewriting the whole prompt regenerates everything and you lose the parts that were right. Never ask for "modern", "clean" or "professional". Those words move nothing. Ask for the property you actually want: more contrast, tighter spacing, one accent colour, fewer competing weights.
How to install it
1. Open the tool and start a new conversation, project or template. 2. Paste the text below wherever the tool keeps standing instructions — usually called system prompt, instructions, or persona. 3. Save it so it applies to every run rather than a single message.
