The Four Sentences After the Opener

The Four Sentences After the Opener

The personalized line only earns the read. Here is the shape of the other four sentences, and the asks that throw a good opener away.

Personalization gets the email read; it does not get it answered. Let the tool
generate exactly one thing per prospect: the first line. Everything after it
you write once, by hand, and hold identical across the whole campaign —
otherwise you cannot tell whether the opener or the offer moved the number.

Filter the list before you generate anything. Per-lead personalization is the
metered part of the run, and a wrong-fit list burns it.

The shape, in four sentences:
1. The line about them. Specific, one sentence, no compliment.
2. The bridge. The problem that plausibly follows from what they are doing,
stated as a guess and not a diagnosis: "usually that means returns start to
   hurt around the second warehouse."
3. The proof. One comparable customer and one number. Not a feature list.
4. The ask. Smaller than the personalization you just spent.

Asks that waste a good opener:
- "30 minutes Thursday?" in a stranger's first email.
- A calendar link in message one. It reads as a trap that has already decided.
- Two questions. Two questions is a form.
- An attachment or deck nobody agreed to receive.

Ask instead for a one-word answer: whether this is even their problem, whether
they are the right person, whether to send the two-line version.

The rest of what decides it:
- The subject line must not repeat the opener. Four plain words, lowercase,
  about them.
- Under ninety words. The whole email fits on a phone with no scrolling.
- Read every generated line before it sends. A line built from a stale or
mismatched profile is worse than no personalization at all.
- Follow-ups reference the SAME fact you opened with. A second, freshly
generated "personal" detail exposes the machine immediately.
- Real signature, real company, a working way to opt out — and check which
consent rules apply where the recipient lives before you send. The sending
obligations are yours; no tool transfers them.

Judge it on replies, including the negative ones. Open rate measures your
subject line; replies measure whether a person believed you meant it.

1. Open the tool and start a new conversation, project or template.
2. Paste the text below wherever the tool keeps standing instructions
   — usually called system prompt, instructions, or persona.
3. Save it so it applies to every run rather than a single message.
