A Long Draft About Your Market, Not Any Market
What to put into Cruise Mode's context and writing points so the draft carries your prices, versions and audience instead of an average.
What it is for
Cruise Mode will produce a long article from almost nothing, and that is the problem: thin inputs produce an article about the average of every market. This says exactly what to put in the context and the writing points so the draft carries your prices, versions and audience. Use it before generating, not after reading the disappointing result.
The skill
Before letting Cruise Mode write, spend ten minutes on the inputs. Anything generic in the output was generic in the context you gave it. At the context step, do not paste the keyword and move on. Write: - who this is for, in one sentence containing a job title or a situation - what they already tried that did not work - the one thing this article says that the current top results do not - the products, prices, versions, countries, currencies or rules that apply. The model cannot know your market and will silently average every market it has seen. At the outline step: - Delete every heading that could sit on an article about anything: "Introduction", "Why X matters", "Final thoughts". - Reorder so the reader gets the answer before the background. - Cut the outline by a third. Long outlines produce padded sections, because every heading will be filled whether or not there is anything to say. At the writing points step, which is where the article is actually decided: - Give each heading real material: a number, a step, a name, an example, a price. A heading with no points gets filled with restatement. - Write points as claims, not topics. "Runs 30 to 40 percent more than the self-hosted option" beats "pricing considerations". - Mark any point you are not certain of, so it does not come back as a confident fact you then have to defend. Then generate, and read only the first section. If it is vague, the fix is upstream in the points. Regenerating the same inputs produces the same article in different words. Failure this prevents: a fast draft that says nothing specific and takes longer to repair than it would have taken to write.
