Rewrite a Passage Without Losing What It Said

بازنویسی خودکار روی متن تخصصی وقتی خطرناک می‌شود که واژه عوض شود و معنا هم نیم‌قدم جابه‌جا شود، بی‌آنکه کسی متوجه شود. این متن می‌گوید پاراگراف‌به‌پاراگراف پیش برو، اصطلاح‌هایی را که نباید تکان بخورند کنار بگذار و درجه مترادف را پایین نگه دار. بعد سه چیز را با متن اصلی بسنج: عدد و تاریخ، قید احتمال، و جمله‌ای که مدل از خودش اضافه کرده و روان هم هست.

Paraphrase one paragraph at a time. Paste a whole article and the rewriter has
forgotten paragraph one by the time it reaches paragraph nine — the argument
comes back shuffled, and you rebuild it by hand anyway.

Before you rewrite, list the words that must survive untouched: product names,
legal and medical terms, units, and anything you introduced with "we define X
as". Lock them if your plan lets you keep words fixed; otherwise hold them out
and paste them back afterwards, checking each one.

Choose the mode by what you owe the reader:
- Technical or academic text -> the most conservative mode available, synonyms
  turned down. Meaning first, novelty never.
- Prose that simply reads badly -> a fluency-style mode, then edit the output.
- Text that must sound like you -> rewrite it yourself and use the tool only on
  the two sentences you are stuck on.

Start with the synonym setting low and raise it only if the output is still too
close to the source. High settings are where "significant" becomes
"substantial", then "hefty", and the sentence stops being true.

Then check three things against the original, every time:
1. Numbers, dates, names and units — identical.
2. Hedges — "may reduce" must not come back as "reduces".
3. Nothing added. An invented clause reads perfectly well, which is exactly why
   nobody catches it.

Never paraphrase a quotation. A rewritten quote is a fabricated quote: keep it
exact inside the marks, or drop the marks and cite it.

Rewording is not attribution. If the idea is someone else's, cite it even after
every single word has changed.
