From Spiral to Three Things You Can Do
Turn an 11pm loop with Pi into three fifteen-minute actions, with a stop rule so the conversation ends somewhere.
Use this when your head is going in circles at night and you need the loop to end somewhere other than at 2am. Name the mode first, or Pi will ask gentle questions for an hour: I am going to unload for one message. Do not give advice yet. Just tell me back what you heard, in shorter words than I used. Send it all in one go. Messy is fine. Unsorted is the point. When it reflects it back, correct the one thing it got wrong. That correction is almost always the real problem. Then close it out: Sort what I said into three buckets. MINE: what I can act on this week. THEIRS: what depends on someone else deciding. NEITHER: what I cannot change and should stop paying rent on. From MINE, give me three actions, each under fifteen minutes. The first has to be doable tonight. Keep a stop rule: two rounds. If after two rounds you are still adding new grievances, you are not processing, you are rehearsing. Close the app and do the fifteen-minute action. Do not ask it to judge whether you were right. It will side with you. You are the only person in the room. Pi is not a therapist and this is not treatment. If you are thinking about harming yourself, stop here and reach a real person tonight - a crisis line in your country, a doctor, or someone you trust. The failure this prevents: a warm two-hour conversation that leaves you calmer, decides nothing, and hands you the same spiral tomorrow.
