Upscaling That Does Not Rewrite the Picture
Enhancement invents plausible detail where the real detail is missing. The four places that turns into a forgery.
What it is for
Names the four regions where AI upscaling stops restoring and starts fabricating — text, logos, faces, repeating structure — and gives the workflow that keeps the real ones. Reach for it before upscaling any photo of a real person, product or place. It prevents delivering a client image whose logo or label is quietly, convincingly wrong.
The skill
An enhancer does not recover detail that was never captured. It generates plausible detail and puts it where the missing detail would have been. On rock, fabric and foliage that is a gift. On anything a viewer already knows, it is a forgery. Assume these four are wrong until you have checked them at 100 percent: - Text. Labels, packaging, signage, plates. Small text comes back as confident nonsense that reads as real at thumbnail size. - Logos and brand marks. A subtly wrong logo on a client's product is the kind of mistake that ends the relationship, not the revision round. - Faces. Eyes, teeth and the shape of a smile shift first. "Looks slightly different" is unusable for a real person, even when it is prettier. - Repeating structure — brickwork, tiling, knitwear, keyboards. Counts change and grids bend. How to work: - Use the least enhancement that solves your actual problem. This is not free resolution; every additional step is additional invention. - Upscale once, from the best original you have. Chained passes compound the invention, each one working from the last one's mistakes. - For a real person, product or place, keep the enhanced version for texture only and paste the real face, real label and real logo back over it. - Compare before and after side by side at full size. Flipping between tabs hides gradual change; a side-by-side does not. If the picture needs detail that never existed, generate a new picture. Do not ask an enhancer to fabricate it and then present the result as a photograph.
How to install it
