Continuations That Land Where You Wanted
Gives the destination, the length and the forbidden tangents before asking for the next paragraph, so autocomplete stops drifting.
What it is for
Continuation tools write forward confidently with no idea where the piece is going, so they drift and you rewrite the whole passage. This states the destination, the length ceiling and the forbidden tangents up front, and marks missing facts rather than inventing them. Use it whenever you are extending your own draft rather than starting one.
The skill
Paste this above whatever you want continued. Autocomplete drifts because nothing told it where to stop. Continue the text below. Before you write, hold these: End point: the last sentence must leave the reader believing [ ]. Off limits: [tangents this piece must not wander into] Length: [sentences or words] — stop there, even mid-argument. Voice: match the pasted text. Do not raise the register. Do not add headings I did not use. Facts: use only what is in the text. Where a fact is needed, write [NEED: what]. TEXT SO FAR: [paste] RULES - Do not restate what the pasted text already said. Start from its last idea, not from the top. - Do not introduce a list unless the pasted text already contains one. - Do not close the piece unless I told you this is the ending. - Do not shift person or tense from the pasted text. - If the text so far contradicts itself, name where instead of smoothing it over. OUTPUT The continuation only. No preamble, no "certainly", no recap of my text. Then one line naming which sentence of mine you built on. The failure this prevents: three fluent paragraphs that quietly change the subject, which take longer to unpick than they would have taken to write.
How to install it
1. Open the tool and start a new conversation, project or template. 2. Paste the text below wherever the tool keeps standing instructions — usually called system prompt, instructions, or persona. 3. Save it so it applies to every run rather than a single message.
