یک جواب روان می‌تواند از دو تکه متن ساخته شده باشد که در سند اصلا کنار هم نبوده‌اند. این اسکیل ابزار را وادار می‌کند برای هر جمله شماره صفحه و عین عبارت را بدهد و اگر سند جواب ندارد بگوید ندارد. کار اصلی اما دست توست: صفحه را باز کن و ببین آن جمله واقعا آنجا هست، در بافت خودش همان معنی را می‌دهد، و ادعای خود سند است نه نظری که سند دارد ردش می‌کند.

Paste this as your first question on any document you intend to
quote from:

  "Answer only from this document. For every sentence in your
   answer, give the page it came from and quote the exact wording
   you used. If the document does not answer the question, say
   NOT IN DOCUMENT and stop. Do not fill the gap from general
   knowledge."

Then open every page it names. Every one. That takes two minutes
and it is the whole job.

Check three things on the page:
  - The quoted sentence is there, word for word.
  - It still means that with the paragraph around it.
  - It is the document's own claim - not a position it is
    describing, quoting, or about to reject.

The third is where careful people get burned. Reports and papers
state views they go on to demolish. Pulled out on its own, the
demolished view reads as the document's position.

When a number matters - money, dose, date, headcount - ask again
in a different shape and compare:

  "What is the figure for <X>? Give the unit and the time period
   it covers, and the page it appears on."

Two matching answers from two questions is weak evidence. The page
is the evidence.

The failure this prevents: a fluent, plausible answer assembled
from two passages that were never near each other in the document,
or from a footnote saying the opposite. You put it in a report,
someone opens the PDF, and the sentence is not there.
