Asking About Right Now
Getting a current answer instead of a confident stale one, and making the model show which is which.
What it is for
A model answers a question about right now with the same confidence whether or not it actually knows. This asks for a current answer AND makes it mark which parts are live and which are recalled, so a stale claim is visible rather than blended in.
The skill
When the answer depends on the present, say so and make the model separate what it looked up from what it remembers. Structure the ask: 1. State the cutoff explicitly: "As of today, ..." and give today's date. A model that is not told the date will answer as of its training and sound equally certain. 2. Ask for the source and its timestamp per claim, not once at the end. 3. Ask it to mark anything it could NOT verify live as `[unverified]`. Then check one thing before trusting the answer: ask "what would you have said about this a year ago?" If the two answers are identical, nothing was actually looked up. For anything numeric — a price, a count, a version — ask for the number and the page it came from in the same line. A number with no source is a rumour with a decimal point.
How to install it
1. Open the tool and start a new conversation, project or template. 2. Paste the text below wherever the tool keeps standing instructions — usually called system prompt, instructions, or persona. 3. Save it so it applies to every run rather than a single message.
