Generating Something You Can Actually Ship

Generating Something You Can Actually Ship

Keeping generated assets usable in commercial work, and the metadata that proves it.

Para qué sirve En inglés

Generated assets are only useful commercially if you can still show where they came from later. This covers keeping the output usable in paid work and keeping the metadata that answers the question when a client asks it.

La skill

Firefly's selling point is that its training data is licensed. That only helps
you if the asset stays traceable.

Before generating:
- Do not upload a reference image you do not have rights to. A generated image
derived from someone else's photograph inherits the problem, whatever the
  generator's own licence says.
- Do not prompt with a living artist's name, a brand, or a character. The model
may comply, and compliance is the problem.

After generating:
- **Keep the Content Credentials.** They are the record of how the asset was
made, and they are what you show if it is ever questioned. Exporting through
a tool that strips metadata destroys them silently — check the exported file,
  not the export dialog.
- Keep the prompt with the asset. Six months later "where did this come from"
is answerable only if you wrote it down.

For anything that will carry a brand: generate the base, then composite and
colour-correct in a real editor. A fully generated final asset is harder to
adjust when the brand guidelines change, and they always change.
